BLACKBELT/Wrestling Coach/Owner Richard Goodwin
A native of Pacifica and a SF State University Alumnus, he spent much of his life in High School setting state records and later at SF State became a 3X NCAA All American In Wrestling. Rich is a humbled Indivdual, as life has taken him through the depths of Drugs and Alcoholism. He lives and breaths sobriety everyday and has been for the past 15years. He was introduced to Jiu jitsu as an adult and later found jiu jitsu to be rewarding. He would go on to Win 5 World Titles and still continues to strive for the next World Title. Jiu jitsu became Rich’s livelihood. He is competitive by nature and loves to see everyone grow to their full potential. He’s a very passionate coach and his dedication speaks for itself. He is also a Head Coach for Benicia High School Wrestling and has done so for the past 10 years. - See you on the mat!
BROWN BELT- ALBERT VENZON
Brown Belt, Albert Venzon is our Jiu-jitsu Kids Coach. He has a no -nonsense approach. Teaching the kids discipline, team work and the basics building blocks to be successful on and off the mat. He is active in our Jiu Jitsu Combat Team and loves to compete.
BLACK BELT - BILLY RAY CHUBBS AKA MEGATRON
Yes! we have our very own Super Hero here at New Creation. Billy Ray was promoted to Black belt in 2016. He’s placed in many well known tournaments here in the Bay Area. Given the name MEGATRON by Michael Bay in 2007 from playing the character in all the Transformers films. He’s proud to call New Creation his home. We are thankful to have another Professor share his experience with our students.
BROWN BELT, Izzy Ocampo
Izzy Ocampo is a Brown Belt in Jiu jitsu. A Seasoned Muay Thai and MMA Coach. He’s a Vegan Nutrition Specialist. He is a multi-faceted individual with 10+years in the Martial Arts Arena. He is the Founder of Veganizzymnutrition.com Izzy is a mentor to many, not to mention a very humbling individual. Our members and fighters from Amateur to Professional all seek his supplements, Sea Moss and Shilajit from all over the world. We are very fortunate to have him on the Combat Team.
BROWN BELT - YASERT ORTEGA
Yasert holds his Brown Belt in Jiu jitsu and comes to us with over 10 years of experience. He started his journey with UFC and has competed in many Bay Area Tournaments. He received his Purple Belt and Brown Belt from Professor Rich Goodwin. Yasert is very knowledgeable, patient and loves to teach. He enjoys teaching our Noon Series Fundamentals in Jiu Jitsu during the week.
PURPLE BELT - LAURA SANCHEZ
Laura started her Jiu jitsu journey in 2016. She is a Purple Belt in Jiu jitsu and is our Women‘s Class instructor. Her competitive nature has taken her to IBJJF Tournaments in Fresno and IBJJF Worlds in 2019 and smaller tournaments in the Bay Area. She loves the sport, as it’s family friendly. She has 2 boys whom also train Jiu jitsu and Wrestling. She is very welcoming, patient and admired by all in the room. She teaches our Women‘s classes on Monday and Wednesday At 12pm.
PURPLE BELT & MUAY THAI -COACH AJ OCAMPO
AJ Ocampo is a Purple Belt in Jiu Jitsu and Nogi. He’s an experienced MMA Title Fighter, Jiu jitsu competitor and Kids Muay Thai Coach. You will always find AJ on the mat training.
NICK PICA
Nick Pica - “The Silverback” Bellator MMA Fighter, State Wresting Champ, Brown Belt in Jiu JItsu. We are fortunate to have such talent in the room. You will find Nick in the wrestling room working with our kids and high school kids. He’s a fierce competitor.
